#25.41 - A Simpler Way to Sell Trips

Happy Friday, friends! The last two weeks have been all about going deep under the hood of Itsy. I’ve been refactoring one of the most important parts of the system, trip products, both in the UI and behind the scenes. It’s one of those big, structural changes that doesn’t just make things faster or prettier, but genuinely simpler for everyone.

The new setup brings a much cleaner pricing structure. You can now define prices per night, opening up far more flexibility for agencies offering longer stays or dynamic itineraries. I’ve worked hard to make this new pricing logic feel intuitive, so users can focus on creating great trips instead of fighting with configuration screens.

There’s also something new for the curious explorers among you, the unified inventory view has officially landed in the UI! It’s not wired up to live data just yet, but you can now browse and play around with what’s to come. It’s an exciting glimpse into how all parts of the system. Hotels, activities, transport, and more, will soon live together in one smooth experience.

On the technical side, simplifying the pricing model let me strip away a few database tables and quite a bit of old code. Every time I get to delete something, it feels like spring cleaning for my brain. The result? A leaner, faster, and more maintainable foundation that’ll make future updates easier to build and roll out.

Itsy is growing, and there’s a major announcement just around the corner. I can’t share details quite yet, but let’s just say the next chapter is going to be the biggest one so far. Stay tuned, there are exciting times ahead!
