#021 Itsy Automations
What are Automations?
I always thought of Itsy as a small but productive and capable system. The core should be secure, stable and do whatever a travel agent needs, but for all the other stuff, you should be able to connect your data to other systems at will.
So that is where the automations come in. I have been moving some stuff around these last few days, using Google Workflows as the base for the automations. For the time being, the workflows are simple with not much logic built in, but the possibilities are endless using the Google platform.
Why should I care?
One of the biggest benefits of automation in travel software solutions is the ability to handle repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Imagine having to manually enter customer information into multiple different systems. With automation, these tasks can be done quickly and efficiently, leaving more time for other important tasks.

What is already in place?
You can let Itsy respond to a multitude of events in the system and perform actions based on those events, all configurable from the UI. As an example you can send a notification email (to any email address) that an Order has been created in the system or post the order data to any endpoint to be able to process the data in an external system.
